Dance Jaipong

        Jaipong is a traditional Sundanese dance, this dance was invented in the 1960's by an artist from Bandung, Gugum Gumbira, which aims to create a type of music and social dance which unearthed from archipelago's folk wealth art .  especially in West Java. Although Jaipong include to a relatively new dance creations, Jaipongan developed based on folk arts that have been developed previously, such as Ketuk Tilu, Kliningan and Ronggeng.
        Before this form of performing arts appear, there are some influences behind the formation of this social dance. In West Java for example, social dance is the influence of the Ball Room, which is usually in dance-dance association could not be separated from the presence of dancer and pamogoran.
        Ronggeng in social dance is no longer used for the ceremony, but for entertainment or a way of hanging out. Existence dancer in the performing arts has an appeal that invites sympathy for the pamogoran. For example in Ketuk Tilu dance is so well known by the Sundanese people, estimated this art popular around the year 1916.
        As the folk performing arts, this art is only supported by simple elements, such as waditra which includes fiddle, drums, two kulanter, three percussion, and gongs. Similarly, the dance movements that do not have a standard pattern of motion, a simple costume dancer as a reflection of democracy.
        Along with the fading of types of art on top,  former pamogoran turning his attention to the Kliningan performing arts, which in the Northern Coast of West Java (Karawang, Bekasi, Subang, Purwakarta, Indramayu) known as Bajidoran Kliningan a pattern of dance performances and events have in common with art before. In the meantime, the existence of dance in Topeng Banjet quite popular, especially in Karawang, where some Bajidoran motion patterns extracted from the Topeng Banjet dance. In choreographic dance is still reveals patterns tradition (Ketuk Tilu) that contains elements of the bukaan movements, pencugan, nibakeun and some range of motion, which in turn became the basis of the creation of dance Jaipongan.
